In October of this year Global Blue initiated a veteran internship pilot program for student-veterans to assist with their transition out of the service and into the work force. We recognize that veterans often leave the service with a specific skill set that can sometimes be difficult to translate into the civilian world. Our internship aims to build on the skills veterans are equipped with by exposing them to multiple facets of the IT industry. Our internship is in its early stages but right now our interns are learning new and exciting skills in the fields of Digital Media and Content Management. Some of the tasks our interns have taken on include:
Digital Content Creation – Our interns have assisted in the development of our digital content which includes blog entries, social media posts, and event coverage.
Social Media Strategy – Interns stay up to date on emerging social media trends and assure that Global Blue’s social media strategy is keeping with best industry practices.
Website Development – Our interns are learning how to use WordPress to navigate and edit the front end of our website without having to learn any coding.
The Global Blue Veteran Internship Program’s primary goal is for our veteran interns to get as much out of the program as they put in. Therefore, we encourage interested veterans to check with their college or university to assure that they receive credit for their internship.
*Applications for the Fall Semester Internship have closed. Check back in December for the Spring Semester application.
